Creative and Design

Amazon Product Design and Creatives

On Amazon, your images are your shop floor. Shoppers cannot touch your product, smell it, or read the back of the packaging. Your images are the only thing standing between a browser and a buyer — and a product with better images will outsell a product with better ingredients if the creative gap is large enough.

The Problem

What Weak Amazon Creative Actually Costs

Poor Amazon creative does not just make your listing look unprofessional. It directly suppresses your conversion rate, which suppresses your organic rank, which means you pay more per click in advertising to reach the same shoppers. The cost of weak creative compounds through every channel simultaneously.

Main image indistinguishable from competitors — shoppers do not stop scrolling
Secondary images show the product but do not communicate benefits or use cases
No lifestyle context — premium products positioned like commodity goods
Infographics cluttered with text, designed for desktop, broken on mobile
A+ content modules not cohesive with product imagery — brand identity fragmented
New ASIN launches with placeholder imagery that sets a low conversion rate baseline before the product ever gains traction
Our Approach

Creative Built on Category Intelligence and Conversion Data

We study your category before producing anything. We look at the visual language of the top performers, where the creative standard sits, and what would differentiate your product in that environment. Every creative decision — the angle of the hero shot, the infographic structure, the colour palette for A+ modules — is made with the category context and your conversion objective in mind.

Main Image Direction

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you want to know before getting started.

Do I need to provide my own photography?+
Not necessarily. We work with existing photography first and identify exactly what is missing. For new photography we brief the shots needed and can connect you with Amazon-specialist photographers. For some projects we use AI-assisted image generation for lifestyle backgrounds and context — we are transparent about this and only use it where the quality meets category standards.
What file formats and specifications does Amazon require?+
Amazon’s main image requirements: white background, product fills at least 85 percent of the frame, minimum 1000 pixels on the longest side. Secondary images: same size minimums, any background, no promotional text on the main image. We handle all specifications and submission — you do not need to know the technical requirements.
How many images does an Amazon listing need?+
Amazon allows up to nine images. We typically design eight — one main image plus seven secondary images covering lifestyle context, feature callouts, scale, benefits, and use cases. The ninth slot is often used for a video if one is available.
Can you redesign images for an existing listing that is already ranking?+
Yes, and we recommend doing it carefully. We do not replace all images simultaneously on a ranking listing — we test new images against existing ones to confirm conversion improvement before completing the full replacement.
Do you design for all Amazon marketplaces?+
Yes. We design for Amazon.com, Amazon.ca, Amazon.co.uk, and Amazon.com.au. Image specifications are consistent across marketplaces, though lifestyle context and product positioning may differ by market.
